Visiting Among Friends |
|
When we visit meetings to which we do not belong, although they may be Conservative ones, God requires us to be in the Spirit of His beloved Son, our everlasting Savior, even when we do not offer vocal ministry. When other Friends observe that love and power, they are encouraged to wait on the Lord for proper guidance. Therefore, even if we are visitors, God gathers us with our Friends in the body of Christ to feel the Lord's presence in addition to hearing the Lord inwardly proclaiming Truth which speaks to our condition. If we are faithful in our visitation, God instructs us in discerning the spiritual needs of the meeting in addition to encouraging us to pray for the goals of the gathering, whether our prayer is vocal or silent. We can also minister to the needs of members of the meeting, if our help seems vital. But Friends, we need to be in the Lord's power in rendering that ministry. Otherwise our well-intentioned advice may be trivial. Above all, the meetings we frequent are also seeking and often finding Jesus in our midst. Let us treat them as fellow believers who seek the Lord. Yes, we must visit in the power of God.
