Unity In Truth

God, and not humans, is the purveyor of righteousness in the love and power of His everlasting Son who is Lord over all.

That is why we need to wait on God for answers during our Christ-directed business meetings when the questions with which we are dealing are much too complex for our human minds to discern God's remedies.

In our aspirations for answers we should not declare unity when even one person in the spirit of our Lord, raises some objections to the proposed minute.  In such a situation, the Friend expressing doubt may be replete in God's domain while the rest of us are anxious to discern human answers to issues that plague us.

In such situations, perhaps more prayer and waiting on the Lord is needed to discern God's will.  We must, though, avoid long vocal messages on the subject on hand which is our natural tendency.  Rather, in God's power, we must recognize our love for each other so we can and will listen to Christ's Truth.

Perhaps the clerk or one of the elders would be moved to read scripture since Biblical passages are the declaration of God's witness to us sometimes beleaguered human souls.  This may lead us to unity because we realize the words of the Lord besides being insightful are indeed precious.

Still, if we have not heard God's answer to whatever dilemma plagues us, we should perhaps wait for the next business meeting to discover our Lord's promptings.  Meanwhile we can open ourselves to Jesus's promptings between business meetings.  And through this waiting along with our prayers, we would hear and discern God's answer which may or may not differ from the intent of the original minute.  Then we will be in unity with Truth demonstrating that we are a people of God.
