Spiritual Baptism |
|
Because First Century Quakers surrendered to the Lord in worship, God revealed the necessity for these servants of our living Lord to receive the true baptism that eliminates inward sinfulness. Our Friends heard the revelation that before they could do God's work, Christ needed to baptize them in His love and power. For that to happen for us, God requires His faithful servants to open themselves up to the Lord's spirit. Then He will, as we have experienced, abrogate our desire to render evil, even when we think that we are justified in displaying hostility. Once Jesus eliminates evil from our souls, we can wait to hear God's expectations for us with the power to render good service in faithfulness. But let us remember that Jesus continues to baptize us as long as we remain obedient to God's will. In other words, we need to be open to Jesus' power consistently to be loyal in our heavenly Father's Kingdom. Yes, Jesus continues to feed us inwardly so long as we are willing to understand His goodness. Yes, Jesus continues to Baptize us in His everlasting spirit.
