Before we gather for worship in the name of blessed Jesus, individuals must empty ourselves from our own visions, our own desires and come to the gathering prepared to listen. Listening to God's promptings. At worship, we need to realize that we, in God's power, are meeting with fellow believers who adore Jesus. Naturally we expect Jesus to reveal His Father's instructions for the people of God. Occasionally the Holy Spirit inspires an individual to minister vocally revealing Jesus' goals. We, in turn, must be so unified that we can understand the heavenly message. We may not be particularly fond of the minister but we need to pray as Jesus' body to receive that message inwardly realizing the ministry is from our Holy Father. Then when we terminate the gathering, we become cognizant that Jesus' love permeates the body and we thus are prepared to serve the Lord wherever He leads us. We belong to Him and not ourselves. May our worship bring us closer to God.
