The Heifer Project |

Some of us among Crossroads Friends donated regularly to the Heifer Project. This is a charity which provides live animals and plants (tree seedlings, for example) to people in impoverished areas, helping them to establish or re-establish subsistence agriculture to support themselves and their families. Project animals range from heifers, llamas and water buffaloes through sheep, goats and pigs to assorted poultry, rabbits and honeybees. A gift which seems rather modest to many Americans can accomplish wonderful things for a Third World farming family. For more information on the Heifer Project, visit: http://www.heifer.org |
