Friends and Their Families |
|
In unity with George Fox and other first generation Quakers, Conservative Friends encouraged their family members as well as their servants to worship with the families to wait on Christ for guidance to live in the power and love of our gracious Lord. In that way, the true gospel was revealed. George Fox, in his ministry, often proclaimed that we need to encourage our relatives and employees to worship with us to hear Christ speaking in the midst of His people. Because early Friend knew that the gospel message was not for just Quakers but all people, they arranged periods of worship where Friends and their extended families waited on the Lord together to hear and obey the inner voice of God. And that was the reason Conservative Friends in addition to attending meeting for worship also scheduled family gatherings to discern their in their relationship with each other. Today we need to encourage families to meet in the Lord together in faithfulness, sometimes encouraging other individuals to join them in worship to spread the good news.
