Enough War: Give Peace a Chance

Christ affirmed the moral law - Buddha and Mahomet, too -
"Harmful deeds to others done, come back round to punish you."

As with persons, so with nations - this great precept doth apply,
For needless war we pay most dearly, as we watch our valiant die.

Yet our country's chosen leaders, still this law refuse to learn.
The wisdom of the sages, e'en a child can well discern.

Crazed by greed - the lust for pow'r - laced with hate,
They lied us into wars that may well seal our children's fate.

With work out-sourced, more youth rebel and do not care,
They're trapped in dead-end jobs and drugs, or anger-filled despair.

Condemn them not - the blame is shared for all we've lost,
Letting "leaders" sell poor people out, not counting warfare's cost.

To make amends, speak truth for peace and gently live,
Upholding those who've learned: "We get the war we give."
