Paul's Letter to the Colossians

In this most telling letter, the apostle Paul writes, "And whatever you do in in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus giving thanks to God the Father through Him."  (Colossians 3:17)

We need to wait on the Lord, in other words, to receive instruction as well as inspiration in the power of the Living Christ before we act - no matter what the act may involve.  Then we will know and feel His presence within us.

That is why George Fox and other first generation Friends implored their fellow humans to seek and receive that awesome power from above.  Early Friends did not hide that all inspiring love but, to the contrary, preached the necessity of waiting on Jesus - to be empowered in His name.

Paul was aware of the utter  importance of obeying God and Christ in the holy spirit.  God ordered Friends to do likewise.  May we respond to His calling in Jesus endearing name and, most important, follow Him wherever He leads us.  Yes, the Lord is waiting on His people.  May we be pervaded in His name with all our loving hearts.
